Trendstop offers FashionUnited readers an exclusive look at the international menswear collections for the Resort 2025 season.
The men’s Resort collections showcased a blend of casual utilitarianism, sports-inspired streetwear, and formalwear with a distinctive edge. Nostalgia for childhood and teenage subcultures brought heritage elements together with the bold rebellion of youth.
Undercover
Jun Takahashi’s Undercover collection emphasized a sense of weightlessness through ‘invertebrate’ construction techniques, making the pieces lighter and more dynamic. Vented jackets, wide-gauge knits, and sporty or utilitarian cuts created roomy silhouettes. Graphic patches, studded details, and jewelry, along with stiff, rough-textured fabrics, introduced subcultural ‘tribal’ signatures, expressing a punkish attitude.
Givenchy
Punk spirit also influenced Givenchy’s latest Resort collection. Formal tailoring was combined with youthful, athletic detailing, where suits were paired with chunky hiker-laced sneakers and fur-trimmed cropped jackets were worn over comfortable velvet sweatsuits. Smart outerwear merged playful luxury with a laid-back rebelliousness, featuring purple tuxedo lapels, satin bows, glitter collars, and contrast button details. These were paired with relaxed cut washed denims, oversized utilitarian shirting, and skater-pocketed pants.
Nanushka
Sandra Sándor’s collection focused on nostalgia and childhood memories of her teenage years in Budapest. Utilitarian elements, from patchwork details to press stud and hook fastenings, referenced the post-war era workwear worn by her grandfather. Wooden beads and folkloric florals provided decorative adornments, while athleisure-informed designs ensured comfort. Leather made from compressed off-cuts and regenerated cashmere highlighted the brand’s commitment to sustainability.
